Women's Basketball Adds Two More Transfers To Signing Class

San José, Calif. – San José State head women's basketball coach Jamie Craighead has announced the signing of transfers Ellie Boni and Ella Ogier to the team's latest class.

Boni, a guard from Colorado State, made 17 starts as a true freshman with the Rams. The Spokane Valley, Wash. native finished five games scoring in double figures and arrived in Fort Collins as one of the top high school players in the state of Washington.

"Ellie is a special player that can score at all three levels," says head coach Jamie Craighead. "She will be able to play multiple positions for us and will make a major impact right away. She is a big-time competitor and is hungry to get better every day. We are thrilled that Ellie is a Spartan."

Ogier comes to the Spartans by way of Omaha. A standout guard for the Mavericks, she averaged 8.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.2 rebounds per game as a sophomore on the 2020-21 campaign.

The Melbourne product started all 43 games she appeared in while in Omaha.

"Ella is a high motor wing who brings in a plethora of experience not only in college but also at the semi-professional level in Australia," Craighead says. "She gits our fast-paced system perfectly on both the offensive and defensive end. San José State fans will love watching Ella play in a Spartan uniform."

Craighead is entering her ninth season at the helm in San José. Her players have earned 11 conference post-season awards for their play on the court in addition to 36 Academic All-Mountain West and 14 Mountain West Scholar-Athlete honors.

SJSU has now inked 10 players to its latest signing class. The program signed four incoming freshmen to National Letters of Intent in November and added an additional quartet of transfers earlier this month.
