San Jose State University wrapped up its opening weekend of the 2022 indoor track and field season with nine personal bests at the Cougar Classic Invitational hosted by Washington State University at the Podium.
 
Men's team individual highlights from the January 14 & 15 Cougar Classic Invitational

  • Micah Hairston, ran a season-best 8.03 in a preliminary heat of the 60-meter hurdles
  • Shot putters Jacob Lopez (16.12m), Bryson Smith (14.38m), and Gabriel Coronado (13.64m) had season bests in the shot put
  • Mikael Tyler (50.76) and Cecil Ebiwok (51.42) had season bests in the 400 meters.

 
Women's team individual highlights from the January 14 & 15 Cougar Classic Invitational

  • Lina Schubert (1.70m) had a season-best in the high jump. Her mark ranks No.2 on the all-time San Jose State women's indoor track and field list
  • Naiylah Shepherd (14.25m) had a season-best in the weight throw
  • Jordyn Patterson (5.37m) had a season-best in the long jump

 
San Jose State returns to action January 28 & 29 at the UNM Team Open hosted by the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.
