SJSU Baseball Wraps Up Fall Ball

SAN JOSE, Calif. – San José State baseball wrapped up another fall ball season under head coach Brad Sanfilippo. The Spartans look to improve on their 2021 season and have 23 new players joining the squad including 15 transfers. With so many faces, a lot of fall ball was trying to figure out what the young guys can do and depth on the mound.

  • Charles McAdoo has taken some strides forward after having impact moments in limited playing time last season
  • Theo Hardy is making strides as a player to solidify defense up the middle
  • The Spartans have upgraded behind the plate with Omar Gastelum and AJ Esperanza, plus have some talented freshman coming in
  • A lot of competition for the starting rotation, some who had a solid fall camp were Ethan Ross and Keaton Chase
  • Some of the returners who had good camps were Jack Colette, James Shimashita, Robert Hamchuk and Reece Hernandez, along with transfers Brady Hill and Danny Zimmerman who will compete for starting spots
