Spartans Victorious In First Home Dual of 2022

SAN JOSE, Calif.--Jovana Babic and Rozalina Youseva each went 2-0 on Saturday as the San José State women's tennis team won its home-opener over Sacramento State, 6-1, at the Spartan Tennis Complex.
 

  • Babic and Youseva clinched the doubles point for the Spartans with a 7-5 win.
  • Babic won her singles match, 6-1, 6-0, to give SJSU the second point of the match.
  • Oleksandra Andrieieva won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-0, for the Spartans third point of the match.
  • Lara Marco Mas clinched the win for SJSU with a 6-3, 6-0, win at #6 singles.
  • Youseva won in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4.
  • Alba Pedrero Galindo closed out the scoring for the Spartans, splitting the first two sets 1-6, 6-3, before winning the third-set tiebreaker 10-6.

 
San José State goes on the road next weekend for duals at Cal State Fullerton on Friday at 1:30 p.m., and at CSUN on Sunday, February 6, at 11 a.m.
