SAN JOSÉ, Calif. – The San José State softball team heads to Stanford this weekend for the Stanford Invitational to face Brigham Young University ( 4-1, 0-0 West Coast Conference), Seattle University (5-0, 0-0 Western Athletic Conference), UIC (2-3, 0-0 Horizon) and Stanford (4-1, 0-0 Pac12). All four opponents made appearances at the NCAA regional last year (2021).

- Senior RHP Jenessa Ullegue (2-0) finished opening weekend with a 0.70 ERA (3rd in the MW) and had nine strikeouts in 10.0 IP
- Texas Tech transfer Trenity Edwards is batting .412 and has recorded seven hits and two RBIs with a .500 on base percentage
- The Spartan pitching staff's 1.60 ERA is good for second in the Mountain West and is fourth in strikeouts with 29
- San José State is batting .320 through its first five games for fourth best in the conference
- If SJSU beats Stanford it would be the first win over a Pac 12 opponent since 2012 (The Spartans beat Stanford 3-2 at home)
NEXT UP: The Spartans return to San José next weekend to host the SVC Classic I on February 25-27. SJSU will face Cal Poly, Sacramento State, Santa Clara and Saint Mary's College of California.
