SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San José State baseball team (4-1, 0-0 Mountain West) will host Portland (4-0, 0-0 WCC) for three games this weekend at Excite Ballpark. Game one is set for 3:05 p.m. on Friday with Game 2 starting at 2:05 p.m. on Saturday and the final game of the series at 12:05 p.m. on Sunday. 

  • Redshirt sophomore Hunter Dorraugh has four home runs in the first five games of the season and is hitting .375 with with two doubles, six hits, 11 runs, eight RBIs and a 1.250 slugging percentage 
  • Sophomore Charles McAdoo has a .429 batting average to go along with one grand slam, eight RBIs, nine hits and seven runs
  • Freshman Makana Olaso went 3-for-4 with his first career home run and two RBis in his debut against Northern Colorado
  • This is the best start for the Spartans since the 2019 season when they also started 4-1
