• The Spartans (6-3) moved up one spot in the Collegiate Water Polo Association's (CWPA) national rankings to No. 11.|
• San Jose State opens Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) action in the third week of the season with No.3 UCLA. The Spartans have a six-match MPSF season.
• San Jose State enters the UCLA Mini Tournament with more victories than it accumulated in the 2021 (two) and 2020 (five) shortened seasons.
• The match vs. No.1 USC is a non-conference match. The MPSF conference match with USC will be in San Jose at the SRAC on Sunday, April 3.
• San Jose State faces No. 8 Fresno State for the second time in eight days. The Spartans overcame a three-goal first-quarter deficit for a 10-9 comeback win over the Bulldogs in the Cal Cup in Berkeley, Calif.
• By the end of the weekend, six of the Spartans' first 12 matches would be against CWPA top-10 ranked teams.
• San Jose State has a 4-3 record this season against top-20 ranked opponents.
• Olga Descalzi is the Spartans' leading goal scorer with 23 and is tied for second nationally in the scoring category. Teammate Riley Agerbeek is tied for seventh nationally in goal scoring with 19.
• Nationally, goalkeeper Elaina Davey is second with 79 saves and is tied for seventh in saves per match at 8.8.
