LAS VEGAS – Omari Moore had 19 points to lead the No. 11 seed San José State men's basketball team (8-23, 1-17 Mountain West) in a 69-67 overtime loss against No. 6 seed Fresno State (19-12, 8-9 Mountain West) in the First Round of the Mountain West Championships from the Thomas & Mack Center on Wednesday night.
Moore tied the game up at 60 on a lay up with 11 seconds left in the second half to send the game to the extra session. In overtime, the Spartans had a late turnover that turned into the game-winning points for Fresno State.
- This was the first time the Spartans have gone to overtime in the Mountain West Championships
- This is the the first time SJSU has lost by single-digits in the Mountain West Championships
- Moore had 18 of his 19 points in the second half and overtime
- Moore also had 13 rebounds and eight assists
- Alvaro Cardenas shot 5-for-9 from the field with 13 points
- Myron (MJ) Amey, Jr. added 11 points off the bench
- Trey Anderson went 4-of-7 from the field with 10 points
- SJSU made 10 3-pointers (10-for-22 overall) which tied their team record for the Mountain West Championships
- The Spartans had two players foul out and three others with four a piece
- SJSU held the Bulldogs to 4-of-23 from deep
- Orlando Robinson led the Bulldogs with 31 points
