SAN JOSÉ, Calif. - Ashley Rico went 1-for-3 with with a 2 RBI double and a walk in a 6-2 San José State (14-9, 0-0 Mountain West) win over Utah State (9-13, 0-0 Mountain West) in the first of two games on Saturday afternoon at the SVC Classic II at the Spartan Softball Complex.
The Spartans dropped the second game of the afternoon, 2-1, to UC Davis (10-11, 0-0 Big West) leaving eight runners left on base. San José State got on the board first, but the Aggies earned two in the fourth inning and the Spartans couldn't respond.

GAME 1
- Caroline Bowman (2-4) earned the win in the circle and had a season-high 10 strikeouts in 7.0 IP
- Alyssa Graham led off the game with a triple
- The Spartans had 12 hits with eight different batters recording hits
- Jillian Figueroa hit her first home run of the season to lead off the fourth inning
- San José State left 10 runners aboard
- Trenity Edwards went 3-for-4 and scored on Rico's 2 RBI double
GAME 2
- Lacie Ham (3-4) Started the game in the circle and Jenessa Ullegue pitched the final three innings
- Graham, Ullegue and Edwards accounted for the Spartans' three hits
- The Spartans had no errors in the field
