The San José State women's gymnastics team competes at the 2022 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation championships Saturday afternoon at the University Credit Union Center on the UC Davis campus. The Spartans are looking for their fourth MPSF championship after winning in 2004, 2017 and 2018. The five-team meet features Air Force, Alaska Anchorage, Sacramento State, San José State and UC Davis.
San José State enters the meet as the top seed and, will start the meet on a bye before beginning on bars, the team's best event this season.

LAST TIME - 2019 CHAMPIONSHIP
The MPSF last held the championship in 2019. Seattle Pacific hosted that season before dropping the program in the summer of 2020. Air Force won the 2019 title with a 195.725, followed by the Spartans at 195.450. Spartan graduate Taylor Chan won the all-around with a 39.300.
Only two current Spartans have competed at a MPSF Championship. In 2019, Antonia Marquez competed on vault with a 9.650 and floor with a 9.675. Jasmine Henley scored a 9.700 on beam and a 9.800 on floor.
SPARTANS BREAK THE 196.000 BARRIER
For the first time in school history, the San José State women's gymnastics team broke the 196.000 team score barrier and has recorded four 196+ scores this season. The Spartans scored a 196.550 at UC Davis on February 6, scoring a 49.000 or better on three of the four events, including a school-record 49.300 on beam.
