SAN JOSE, Calif- Jillian Figueroa went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a homerun to lead San Jose State (15-10-1, 1-1 Mountain West) in an 8-0 win in six innings over New Mexico (19-8, 1-1 Mountain West) on Saturday night at Spartan Softball Complex. The Spartans scored their eighth run in the sixth inning by way of a walk in a loaded bases situation triggering the eight-run mercy rule and ending the game.
San Jose State did most of their damage in the fourth inning where they scored five consecutive runs including a two run RBI on a single by Taylor Squires. Jenessa Ullegue pitched a shutout, allowing no run through 6.0 IP.

- Figueroa's homerun was her second of the season and her first in Mountain West play
- Ullegue recorded seven strikeouts, her fifth game this season with at least six strikeouts or more
- SJSU had 10 hits on 8 runs and seven Spartans recorded a hit
- The Spartans grab their first Mountain West win of the year with the victory
