SAN JOSÉ, Calif. – After a perfect 5-0 weekend at home, the San José State softball team heads to the Grand Canyon University Invitational in Phoenix this weekend. The Spartans will play Montana (6-9, 0-0 Big Sky) and Binghamton (6-4, 0-0 America East) each twice and cap off the weekend on Sunday morning against tournament hosts Grand Canyon (12-3, 0-0 Western Athletic Conference). San Jose State lost to Montana in its season opener this year at the NorCal Kickoff.
The Spartans' contest against GCU on Sunday will be broadcast on ESPN+.

- The Spartan pitching staff is third in the Mountain West with an ERA of 2.21
- Jenessa Ullegue (6-0) is leading the team with an ERA of 1.12
- Alyssa Graham batted .526 with five RBIs and seven runs at the SVC Classic I last weekend
- San José State leads the MW in triples (7) and is fifth in batting average (.291), slugging percentage (.403) and on base percentage (.369)
- Jessica Giacoma's three triples are second-best in the conference
NEXT UP: The Spartans return to Spartan Softball Stadium to host the second SVC Classic of the season beginning Friday, March 11. San José State will face Idaho State, Utah State and UC Davis.
