SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San José State baseball team (6-3, 0-0 Mountain West) will host New Mexico (3-5, 0-0 Mountain West) to open conference play for three games this weekend at Excite Ballpark and conclude their 12-game homestand to start the season. Game one is set for 6:05 p.m. on Friday with Game 2 starting at 2:05 p.m. on Saturday and the final game of the series at 12:05 p.m. on Sunday. All the games can be seen on Mountain West Network.
- Redshirt sophomore Hunter Dorraugh had hit home runs in six straight games before Tuesday and is third in the nation with seven overall. Dorraugh is hitting .323 with a team leading 1.097 slugging percentage and 14 RBIs while being on base every game this season and earned his first ever Mountain West Player of the Week honors (2/28) and leads the MW in six offensive categories
- Redshirt sophomore Robert Hamchuk has a hit in six straight games and leads the team with a .385 batting average. Hamchuk has two leadoff home runs this season to go along with a team leading 14 hits
- Redshirt sophomore Omar Gastelum had the game-winning RBI vs. USF (3/1) in the 10th. Gastelum is hitting .353 on the season with 7 RBIs
