SJSU's Shetler Leads After 36 Holes at Bandon Dunes Championship

BANDON, Ore.
- Caleb Shetler carded a 2-over-par score of 73 on very tough conditions to grab the 36-hole lead (141/-1) and help the San José State men's golf team to a third-place standing (585/+17) after Monday's round at the Bandon Dunes Championship on the Sheep Ranch course (Par 71, 6,748 yards). The Spartans tallied a score of 299 (+15) in the second round and are one shot behind No. 14 Kansas (584/+16) and two shy of Oregon (583/+15).

  • Shetler (68-73) holds a one-shot lead over Fresno State's Kevin Huff (69-73) and Oregon's Greyson Leach (69-73)
  • On a day that stayed in the low 50s with winds up to 25 mph, only three players broke par
  • Zubair Firdaus shot one of the lowest scores of the day with a 1-over-par 72, including a 36 (-1) on the back 9
  • Kristopher Stiles recorded a score of 76 (+5) for the Spartans
  • Oregon's Craig Ronne shot the only round in the 60s today, finishing with a 2-under-par 69
  • SJSU leads the tournament in Par 5 scoring, shooting 8-under-par through the first two rounds (4.73 scoring average)
  • The Spartans have made 24 birdies which ranks third, behind KU's 26 and Seattle U's 25
  • Competing as an individual for this tournament, Vijay Srinivasan is currently in a tie for 34th place (72-78=150/+8)
