SAN JOSE, Calif. - The No. 11 seed San José State men's basketball team (8-22, 1-17 Mountain West) are playing No. 6 seed Fresno State (18-12, 8-9 Mountain West) in the opening round of the 2022 Air Force Reserve Mountain West Men's Basketball Championship on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. The game can be seen on the Mountain West Network and heard on the Varsity Network Mobile App.

  • The Spartans are looking for their first ever Mountain West tournament victory and it is their first time playing Fresno St. in the MW tourney
  • In his last eight games played, freshman Myron (MJ) Amey, Jr. is averaging 16.3 points per game including 24 at Boise State (2/5)
  • Sophomore Omari Moore had his first career triple-double (18 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists) in the win against New Mexico (2/20). It was the first triple-double for the Spartans since 2013 and the third in program history. Against San Diego State (2/25) Moore hit his fifth 20 point game of the season. He came into the season with zero 20 point games and was named a honorable mention to the All-Mountain West team for the first time in his career
  • The Spartans had a 71-55 win over New Mexico on 2/20. New Mexico defeated No. 22 Wyoming five days earlier
  • The win against New Mexico (2/20) was the first at the Provident Credit Union Event Center in over two years, it also was the seventh home win for the Spartans which is the most since the 2016-17 season
  • The eight wins for the Spartans are the most since the 2016-17 season and the win broke an 18-game Mountain West losing streak
  • The Spartans had 14 3-pointers against Nevada (2/15). This season the Spartans had 17 3-pointers at Portland (12/17) and 20 against Bethesda (1/8)
