- San Jose State's Nick Watts shot an even-par 70 to share the first-round lead on Monday in the 75th Western Intercollegiate at Pasatiempo Golf Club. Watts made five birdies on the day in some tough weather conditions that witnessed chilly temperatures, rain and heavy winds in the afternoon. SJSU is currently in fifth place with an overall score of 376 (+26).

  • Watts is currently tied for the lead with Texas' Pierceson Coody, Colorado State's Rasmus Hjelm and Pepperdine's Dylan Menante is even-par through 17 holes when play was halted due to darkness
  • Kristopher Stiles posted a 1-over 71 after making three birdies on his back nine in severe windy conditions and is in a tie for fifth place
  • Matt Heitel carded a 2-over 72 for the Spartans and is currently in a tie for seventh place
  • Luigi Wong shot a 75 (+5) and Caleb Shetler battled to a 78 (+8) for SJSU
  • There was a wind advisory throughout the afternoon and the first round was halted with the three final pairings needing to come back and play the 18th hole on Tuesday
