LAS VEGAS – Robert Hamchuk went 3-for-5 and drove in two runs and Dalton Bowling finished 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs to lead San José State (18-18, 9-9) in a tough 12-11 loss to Mountain West leading UNLV (25-11, 15-3) on Saturday at Wilson Stadium. James Shimashita homered with two outs in the ninth inning to give the Spartans an 11-10 lead, but the Rebels responded with two runs in the bottom half of the inning to earn the sweep.
- RHP Darren Jansen tossed 2.1 strong innings of relief, striking out four
- Reece Hernandez had a pinch-hit double to drive in a run for the Spartans
- Makana Olaso drove in the go-ahead runs with a double in the seventh inning
- Hunter Dorraugh smashed his team-best 11th home run of the season, tops in the Mountain West
- Charles McAdoo was hit-by-a-pitch to extend his single-season school record on-base streak to 36 games
- The Rebels scored three runs in the eighth inning to tie the game, and two more in the ninth to win
- UNLV's Joey Walls singled to drive in the game-winning runs in the bottom of the ninth inning
- This ends an 11-game road trip for the Spartans
