LAS VEGAS – Robert Hamchuk went 3-for-5 and drove in two runs and Dalton Bowling finished 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs to lead San José State (18-18, 9-9) in a tough 12-11 loss to Mountain West leading UNLV (25-11, 15-3) on Saturday at Wilson Stadium. James Shimashita homered with two outs in the ninth inning to give the Spartans an 11-10 lead, but the Rebels responded with two runs in the bottom half of the inning to earn the sweep.

  • RHP Darren Jansen tossed 2.1 strong innings of relief, striking out four
  • Reece Hernandez had a pinch-hit double to drive in a run for the Spartans
  • Makana Olaso drove in the go-ahead runs with a double in the seventh inning
