LONG BEACH, Calif. - Bryson Smith set a new personal record, finishing fifth in the men's hammer throw with a 57.27m throw at the Bryan Clay Invitational on Friday afternoon, and Jicel Fernandez ran a PR of 4.44.03 in the women's 1500m (19th place) at the Long Beach Invitational on Saturday to lead San José State across multiple meets the weekend. The Spartans sent athletes to the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, the Bryan Clay Invite in Azusa and the Long Beach Invite.

Mt. SAC Relays (RESULTS)
- Sydney Bentley ran a season-best 54.87 in the women's 400m
- Gabby Spencer was just .02 seconds off her PR in the women's 200m dash with a time of 23.82
- The women's 4x100m relay finished sixth with a time of 45.70
- Micah Hairston ran the 110HH in 14.44 (32nd)
Bryan Clay Invitational (RESULTS)
- Cecil Ebiwok set a new PR in the men's 400mH (54.86)
- Jalen Adams ran the men's 100m dash in 10.89
- Smith threw 14.41 in the men's shot put
Long Beach Invitational (RESULTS)
- Daniela Salazar set a PR of 2:13.73 in the women's 800m
- Emilia Sjostrand was third in the women's triple jump (12.50m)
- Mahkaia Lee jumped 6.08m for sixth place in the women's long jump
- Sophie Liao ran 11.92 in the women's 100m dash
- Daryia Greene ( 55.19) and Bentley (55.32) finished sixth and seventh, respectively, in the women's 400m

The Spartans will compete at the Fresno State Invitational on April 29-30 in a final tune up before the Mountain West Championships begin on May 11 in Clovis.
