BOISE, Idaho—Lara Marco Mas needed three sets to win her singles match and clinch a 4-1 win for the San José State women's tennis team over Utah State Friday afternoon in Boise.

- Marco Mas fell in the first set, 3-6, before coming back to win 6-1, 6-2.
- The Spartans started the day with two closely contested doubles matches. Irena Muradyan and Rozalina Youseva won 7-5, but Jovana Babic and Raquel Villan Pereira lost 7-5, to give the Aggies the doubles point.
- Babic got the Spartans their first point of the day with a 6-1, 6-0 win at number-six singles.
- Muradyan won her singles match, 6-4, 6-1, for the team's second point of the day.
- Youseva recorded the team's third point with a 6-4, 6-0 win at number-three singles.
- San José State improves to 6-13 overall and 2-7 in the Mountain West.
The Spartans play at Boise State Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. MT/1 p.m. PT.
