LOS ANGELES, Calif.—Olga Descalzi scored twice on Sunday as the San José State women's water polo team finished sixth at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament with an 11-5 loss to Indiana at the Uytengsu Aquatics Center on the USC campus.
- Descalzi got the Spartans on the scoreboard with a power play goal in the first quarter to tie the match at 1-1.
- Lauren Woolley scored the second goal of the first quarter on a pass from Descalzi to again tie the match at 2-2.
- Cila David gave SJSU its only lead of the match with a goal on the 6-on-5 advantage with 3:23 left in the first quarter. Descalzi was credited with her second assist of the match.
- The final two Spartan goals were scored in the third quarter, both on the power play. Descalzi scored at the 5:45 mark, while Riley Agerbeek scored the final Spartan goal of the match with 2:06 left in the third quarter.
- Hannah Henry made eight saves in goal.
- The Spartans were 4-of-6 on the man advantage.
The Spartans finish the season with an 11-16 overall record.
