SAN JOSÉ, Calif. - Jenessa Ullegue went 2-for-3, scoring the Spartans lone run in a tough, 5-1, loss to Fresno State in the second of a three-game conference series at Spartan Softball Complex on Saturday afternoon. San José State (17-15, 3-5 Mountain West) struggled defensively and despite recording five hits, could not convert runs. The Spartans and Bulldogs (7-26, 1-7 Mountain West) are tied at one game a piece heading into the final game of the series.

- Ashley Rico hit an RBI single in the bottom of the third inning to score Ullegue and cut the deficit to one
- Caroline Bowman (2-7) started the game in the circle and had 2.2 IP before Ullegue (12-4) was called in for relief
- Ullegue had five strikeouts and allowed three hits in 4.1 IP
- San José State had five hits to the Bulldogs' seven
- The Spartans had two costly errors in the field
