SAN JOSÉ, Calif. - Ashley Rico went 2-for-3 with an RBI in San José State Softball's (20-24, 6-13 Mountain West) 7-1 loss to San Diego State (31-12, 14-2 Mountain West) on Friday night in the first of a three-game series at Spartan Softball Complex. Rico hit an RBI single to score Alyssa Graham in the third inning to mark the Spartans only run of the evening.

- Jules Ronquillo went 2-for-2 and a walk
- Karizma Bergesen added an infield single in the bottom of the sixth to bring the Spartans' hit tally to five
- The Spartans left eight runners on base
- Jenessa Ullegue (15-8) threw 3.0 IP before Caroline Bowman completed the final 4.0 innings in the circle
