Fifth-Ranked Spartans At Silverado Showdown To Start The Week

The fifth-ranked San José State women's golf team is back in action to start the week with three rounds at the Silverado Showdown, April 4-6, at the Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa.

 
The Spartans will play 18 holes each day, beginning the tournament Monday with tee times beginning at 8 a.m., off of the 10th tee for SJSU. The team will play the first round with No. 11 Texas A&M and No. 12 Southern California.

Antonia Malate returns to the Spartan team after tying for 25th at the Augusta National Women's Amateur this past week in Augusta, Ga.
 
Natasha Andrea Oon also rejoins the Spartans after playing at The Chevron Championship on Thursday and Friday. She shot 74-73-147, +3, for her two rounds and missed the cut by only two shots.
 
In three tournaments this spring, the Spartans finished first at the Lamkin Invitational, first at the Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational and second at the MountainView Collegiate. San José State has not finished lower than fifth in the team standings in the seven tournaments played this season.
