SAN FRANCISCO – James Shimashita hit a two-run home run in the top of the 10th inning to lead San José State (15-15, 6-6 Mountain West) in a 4-2 extra inning win at University of San Francisco (16-16, 5-4 WCC) Tuesday afternoon.
- This was the second time these teams went to extra innings this season and both times the Spartans have won in the 10th inning
- Shimashita has two home runs this season and also pitched two scoreless innings
- Robert Hamchuk hit his fourth leadoff home run of the season
- Left-handed pitcher Micky Thompson pitched 5.0 innings with four strikeouts and three hits while only letting in two runs in the no decision
- Charles McAdoo went 2-for-5 and has a hit in 27-of-30 games this season while being on base in every game. McAdoo is now one game away from tying the SJSU on base record
- Jack Colette and Stephen Espinoza each scored a run
- Dalton Bowling had a double
- Right-handed pitcher Darren Jansen got his fifth win of the season
- Right-handed pitcher Joey Cammarata had his first save of the season
