ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Hunter Dorraugh went 3-for-5 and hit his 15th home run of the season to tie the SJSU single-season home run record and lead San José State (24-20, 13-11 Mountain West) in a 9-7 loss at New Mexico (17-26, 8-16 Mountain West) Sunday afternoon from Santa Ana Star Field.
- This is the first series win for the Spartans at New Mexico and the Spartans scored 31 runs in the three games
- Dorraugh's home run was a two-run shot and he tied former Major League Baseball player Jeff Ball who hit 15 home runs for the Spartans in 1990
- Dorraugh hit two home runs in the series and leads the Spartans and the Mountain West in home runs
- Ruben Mercado went 2-for-3 and hit a two RBI single
- Mercado has eight RBIs in his last four games
- James Shimashita with a two RBI triple, his second triple of the season and also scored a run
- Charles McAdoo hit a single and has touched base in 44 straight games, plus has a hit in 37 of their 44 games this season
- RHP Aaron Eden went 5.2 innings and struck out five
- Jack Colette went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored
