BREMERTON, Wash. - Kotaro Murata and Kristopher Stiles each fired a final round of 2-under 70 to lead San José State to a sixth-place finish at the Mountain West Championship on Sunday at Gold Mountain Golf Club. The Spartans posted a final round score of 287 (-1) to finish with an overall score of 863 (-2) and in a tie with Wyoming for sixth, while San Diego State shot 22-under to win the championship by four shots over Colorado State.
- Murata finished in a tie for 15th place with an overall score of 214 (72-72-70)
- Stiles ended the tournament in a tie for 28th place (74-76-70)
- Carl Corpus recorded an overall score of 216 (74-70-72) to earn a 19th-place finish
- Caleb Shetler shot 3-over 219 to finish in a tie for 25th place
- The sixth-place standing is the best finish for the Spartans since joining the league eight years ago
