SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San José State men and women's track and field team will compete at the 2022 Mountain West Outdoor Track & Field Champions at Veteran's Memorial Stadium this week. The meet will be broadcasted on the Mountain West Network.
MEN
- Christian Rodriguez won the men's 800m event at the Fresno State Invitational (4/30) in a season-best time of 1:51.84
- Micah Hairston is 52nd nationally in the men's hurdles and ran a 14.14 at the 2022 Cal Opener (3/5)
- The 4x100m relay team ran a 40.81 at the Stanford Invite (4/1) and is third in conference
- Bryan Quintero's hammer throw of 60.82m is second in the conference
- Jacob Lopez is fifth in the MW with a shot put of 16.45m recorded at the Stanford Invite (4/1)
WOMEN
- Emilia Sjostrand set a San José State track and field program record in the women's triple jump at the Fresno State Invitational (4/30), jumping 13.19m (43' 3.25") to win the individual event and is 16th in the national rankings, while being first in the Mountain West
- Mahkaia Lee is 25th in the national rankings when it comes to long jump and had a 6.19m long jump at the Stanford Invitational (4/1) amd is third in the conference
- Grace Togiai is 28th in the national rankings when it comes to shot put and had 16.11m mark at 2022 Cal Opener (3/5) which is also good for second in the Mountain West
- Gabby Spencer earned second overall in the 200m dash in a time of 23.62 Fresno State Invitational (4/30) and ran a personal-best time of 11.70 to finish eighth in the 100m dash. Her time is good for fifth in the conference
- The 4x100m relay squad at the Fresno State Invitational (4/30) ran a 45.40 which is good for third in the Mountain West
