SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San José State baseball team (26-23, 15-12 Mountain West) heads to Air Force (23-25, 11-13 MW) for a huge Mountain West series starting Friday at 12:00 p.m. (PT) from Falcon Field.

  • The Spartans have never won a series at Air Force
  • The Spartans are sitting in third in the Mountain West Conference and looking for their first winning season since 2011. They have one Mountain West series remaining (Air Force) and have won their last three conference series' overall
  • The Spartans have hit an SJSU single-season record 60 home runs this season and are third in the Mountain West
  • Redshirt sophomore Robert Hamchuk hit .583 in the three-game series against Fresno State with three home runs, seven hits, four RBIs and two doubles, plus a slugging percentage of 1.500. Hamchuk has 74 hits to lead the Spartans which is good for sixth in the Mountain West and won his first Mountain West Conference Player of the Week award (5/9)
  • Sophomore Charles McAdoo is hitting .345 and is second on the team with 10 home runs which is good for sixth in the Mountain West and a team best 46 RBIs. McAdoo has a hit in 38 of the Spartans 49 games this season and had an SJSU record 44 game on base streak earlier this season
  • Redshirt sophomore Hunter Dorraugh has 15 home runs to lead the Spartans and the Mountain West. Dorraugh has tied former Major League Baseball player Jeff Ball with the SJSU single-season team record of 15 home runs. Ball set the record in 1990 and Dorraugh is tied for 37th in the nation
  • Redshirt senior Ruben Mercado has nine RBIs in his last seven games
  • Redshirt sophomore Dalton Bowling is second on the team with 38 RBIs and has a hit in 21 of his last 26 games
  • Redshirt sophomore Brady Hill has 10 saves this season which is good for tops in the Mountain West and tied for 11th in the country
  • Redshirt junior Darren Jansen earned his eighth win of the season against Fresno State (5/06) to lead the Mountain West. The Spartans only had six wins total last season and Jansen is tied for ninth in the country
