SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San José State baseball team (27-25, 16-14 Mountain West) plays three games against Sacramento State (28-23, 17-13 WCC) to end the regular season. The first game is Thursday at Sacramento State and the next two games are at Excite Ballpark on Friday and Saturday. Saturday's 4:05 p.m. regular season finale is Senior Day for the Spartans. The series opener can be seen on ESPN+ and the final two games will be broadcasted on the Mountain West Network.
- The Spartans have clinched their first Mountain West Championship berth since 2018 and now have a chance for their first winning season since 2011. The Spartans currently sit in the third spot in the Mountain West tournament
- The Spartans have hit an SJSU single-season record of 63 home runs this season and are third in the Mountain West
- SJSU comes off a 30-9 win over Air Force and it was the most runs since putting up 31 runs against Chicago State in only seven innings in 2009. It was the most runs for the Spartans ever in a Mountain West contest and the most ever on the road for the Spartans. All nine starting position players had a hit, an RBI and scored a run
- Sophomore Charles McAdoo went 4-for-6 and tied an SJSU record with nine RBIs, plus had a home run, three triples and scored four runs in the Spartans 30-9 win over Air Force on his way to winning his first Mountain West Player of the Week Award (5/16) and the fourth for the Spartans this season. McAdoo has a hit in 41 of the Spartans 52 games this season and had an SJSU record 44 game on base streak earlier this season
- Redshirt sophomore Robert Hamchuk went 6-for-7 with a two-run home run, six RBIs and five runs in the 30-9 win over Air Force. The six hits and six RBIs were both career highs. He has 83 hits to lead the Spartans which is good for third in the Mountain West and has won his first Mountain West Conference Player of the Week award (5/9) this season
- Redshirt sophomore Hunter Dorraugh has 15 home runs to lead the Spartans and the Mountain West. Dorraugh has tied former Major League Baseball player Jeff Ball with the SJSU single-season team record of 15 home runs. Ball set the record in 1990
- Redshirt sophomore Brady Hill has 10 saves this season which is good for tops in the Mountain West and tied for 15th in the country
- Redshirt junior Darren Jansen earned his eighth win of the season against Fresno State (5/06) to lead the MW. The Spartans only had six wins total last season and Jansen is tied for 16th in the country
Next Up: The Spartans head to the Mountain West Championship which starts May 26 in San Diego, Calif. and more information can be found here.
