SAN JOSE, Calif. – Ruben Mercado went 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead San José State (28-27, 16-14 Mountain West) in a 14-4 loss against Sacramento State (30-24, 17-13 WAC) Saturday afternoon to conclude the regular season.
- Hunter Dorraugh hit his third triple of the season and had an RBI, plus scored a run
- Omar Gastelum had an RBI double and scored a run
- Dalton Bowling had a hit and scored a run
- Nelson Padilla hit his first double of the season and scored a run
- James Shimashita hit an RBI single
- Reece Hernandez had a hit
- LHP Ben Polack went 0.2 innings pitched and faced the minimum
- RHP Nicholas Morales went 1.1 innings pitched
- Thank you to our seniors Padilla, Mercado, Hernandez, Polack and Morales, plus athletic trainer Karter Lang
- The game ended after eight innings due to 10-run rule made prior to the series between the coaches
- The Spartans 19 home wins are the most since 2011
- It's SJSU's first winning regular season since 2011
