COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San José State's Ethan Ross was named Mountain West Pitcher of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday. Ross, a redshirt sophomore from El Centro, Calif., earns the distinction after going 5.0 innings with eight strikeouts of one hit shutout baseball for the Spartans in their 12-0 win over Sacramento State on Friday.

- Ross earned his first win of the season against the Hornets
- Ross twice struck out the side in the 12-0 win
- Ross leads the Spartans with 61 strikeouts and is seventh in the Mountain West Conference
