SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.—San José State University women's golfer Natasha Andrea Oon continues to add to her honors as she received Women's Golf Coaches Association First Team All-America recognition.
 

  • Oon is the just the eighth Spartan to earn first team honors and the first since Janice Moodie in 1997.
  • This is the second All-America honors for Oon after she was a second-team honoree in 2019.
  • Oon honors this season are extensive.
  • Mountain West Player of the Year
  • MW Individual Champion
  • NCAA Ann Arbor Regional medalist
  • 2nd place individual finish – 2022 NCAA Championships
  • First team All-MW
  • Finalist for the ANNIKA Award
  • Selected to the Arnold Palmer Cup International Team, July 1-3, 2022

The criteria used to determine the WGCA All-American Teams include:
·       Head-to-head competition
·       Comparison with common opponents
·       Scoring average
·       Place finishes in regular season events and tournament wins
·       Strength of schedule
 
The WGCA Second Team and Honorable Mention Team will be announced after the conclusion of the tournament.
 
About the Women's Golf Coaches Association
The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 650 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
