SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San José State baseball team (24-21, 13-11 Mountain West) hosts rival Fresno State (23-22, 11-10 MW) for a three-game series starting on Friday at 6:05 p.m. from Excite Ballpark and can be seen on the Mountain West Network. The Spartans lead the Bulldogs by a half game in the Mountain West standings for third place.

  • Redshirt sophomore Robert Hamchuk has 22 hits in his last 13 games and 67 hits on the season to lead the Spartans which is good for seventh in the Mountain West
  • Redshirt senior Ruben Mercado hit a blistering .533 in four games last week with eight hits, eight RBIs, four runs scored and hit his first home run of the season
  • Redshirt sophomore Dalton Bowling hit .333 in three games against New Mexico with four hits, five RBIs, three runs scored, plus a double and a triple in his first games back since 4/16 after dealing with an injury. Bowling is on a nine game hitting streak
  • Redshirt sophomore Brady Hill has nine saves this season which is good for tops in the Mountain West and tied for 146h in the country
  • Redshirt junior Darren Jansen earned his seventh win of the season against New Mexico (4/30) and is tied for the lead in the Mountain West. The Spartans only had six wins total last season
