SAN JOSE, Calif. – Robert Hamchuk went 3-for-3 with two home runs and James Shimashita had a two out bottom of the eighth RBI single to lead San José State (26-21, 15-11 Mountain West) in a 5-4 win against Fresno State (23-24, 11-12 MW) Saturday afternoon at Excite Ballpark to take the first two games in the three-game series against the Bulldogs.
- Reece Hernandez hit a two out pinch hit two RBI single in the eighth inning and has six RBIs in his last six games
- Hamchuk has five leadoff home runs this season and nine total, plus three home runs in the last two games
- Hamchuk scored three runs and has six runs against Fresno State this weekend
- Shimashita and Hunter Dorraugh also crossed the plate for the Spartans
- Dorraugh went 2-for-3 on the day
