McAdoo Named to Collegiate Baseball All-American Team

TUCSON, Ariz. - Charles McAdoo was named Second Team All-American, announced by Collegiate Baseball on Thursday. McAdoo is the first Spartan to make the Collegiate Baseball All-American team since Aaron Bates made the freshman team in 2003 and the first San José State All-American since Zack Jones in 2010.

McAdoo set a new single-season school record by reaching base safely in 44 consecutive games and helped lead the Spartans to a 30 win season for the first time since 2011 and a place in the Mountain West Championship game for the first time ever.

  • Had the second-best team batting average of .345
  • Finished the season with a career-high 79 hits, 12 home runs, 47 runs, and 63 RBIs
  • His 12 home runs were good for second on the team and eighth in the Mountain West
  • Led the team in doubles (23) while ranking third in the MW
  • Had a career day of four hits and four runs scored while tying the SJSU record with nine RBIs against Air Force (5/15)
  • Went 2-for-6 with four RBIs in the Spartans 15-6 win over Nevada to head to the MW Championship Game (5/28)
  • Fielding percentage of .971
