SAN JOSE, Calif. - San José State is adding a home-and-home series with Washington State to its 2024 and 2031 non-conference football schedule, announced by Director of Athletics Jeff Konya on Wednesday. The first game is set for Sept. 21, 2024 at Washington State and then the Cougars come to CEFCU Stadium on Sept. 6, 2031.
Washington State has only visited San Jose four times with the last time being in 1968. The Spartans currently have 16 games against Power-5 opponents in upcoming schedules and SJSU will play two games against Pac-12 teams in 2023, including Oregon State at home for the opening of the brand new Spartan Athletics Complex. Last week, the Spartans announced a four-game home-and-home series with Stanford and the return of the Bill Walsh Legacy game (story).
"We are excited about this home-and-home series against Washington State," Konya said. "One Spartan Nation should be excited for seeing the Cougars visit San Jose for the first time since 1968."
The Spartans have also added games against Cal Poly for Sept. 12, 2026 and Sept. 21, 2030 with both at CEFCU Stadium and the previously announced home game against Idaho has been changed to Aug. 23, 2025.
