RICHMOND, Va.—San José State women's swimmer Réka Kovács has been named to the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-American Second Team for the 2021-22 season.
The award recognized students who achieved a grade-point-average of 3.50 or higher and were invited to compete at their respective national championship or produced an NCAA "B" time. Kovács was named to the second team after earning a 3.50 or higher gpa and achieved a "B" time for the national championships.
Kovác's 2021-22 Season Highlights
- Third all-time in the 200 butterfly with a 1:59.05 at the Mizzou Invite in November to finish second
- Fourth-fastest 200 butterfly time in the Mountain West
- Third place 200 butterfly at the MW Championships
- Fourth in the 200 butterfly at CSCAA National Invite
- Academic All-MW honoree
- MW Scholar-Athlete
Kovacs is the first Spartan to receive this award since the 2018 season when five Spartans were honored. Since 2010, the program has earned 22 CSCAA Scholar All-American honors.
