LOS ANGELES - San José State pitcher Brady Hill was selected in the 15th round (446 overall) by the Colorado Rockies in the 2022 Major League Baseball draft on Tuesday. Hill is the fifth player to be drafted under head coach Brad Sanfilippo and goes one year after Ruben Ibarra went in the fourth round to the Cincinnati Reds.
"What it means to be drafted for me is that God has a plan for all of us and we have to trust that regardless of what happens," Hill said.
"We are very excited for Brady and proud of all the work he's put in to get this opportunity," Sanfilippo said. "The Rockies could not have drafted a better athlete or person than Brady. He is a first class individual and extremely talented on the diamond."
This is the second time Hill has been drafted by the Rockies after being selected in the 39th round of the 2019 MLB draft. Hill led the Mountain West Conference with 10 saves which was good for 26 in the nation and was named Second Team All-Mountain West.
