SJSU's Stiles Earns BCGCA All-America Honors

SAN JOSE, Calif. - San José State's Kristopher Stiles was named to the inaugural Black College Golf Coaches Association (BCGCA) All-American Team, announced on Wednesday afternoon by the organization. Stiles tallied 12 rounds of par or better, including a career-low 64 in the opening round of The Godwin at the Stanford Golf Course.

The Black College Golf Coaches Association and Golf Coaches Association of America have partnered to present the inaugural BCGCA Awards. The awards honor black college golfers from all backgrounds and across all divisions of college golf. Honors include the Adrian Stills Award (Black College Golfer of the Year), HBCU Golfer of the Year, BCGCA All-America Team, BCGCA and HBCU Outstanding Freshmen of the Year, BCGCA All-Freshmen Team, and BCGCA and HBCU Coaches of the Year.

  • Stiles competed in 11-of-12 tournaments this season
  • He posted a scoring average of 73.27
  • The sophomore carded five rounds in the 60s
  • Stiles tallied a pair of top-20 finishes
    • at the Amer Ari Invitational (T-15/67-73-67=207)
    • at the 75th Western Intercollegiate (T-17/71-79-68=218)
