SAN JOSE, Calif. - San José State women's soccer begins Mountain West conference play by taking on Air Force at the Spartan Soccer Complex on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. before heading to Colorado Springs, Colo. for a matchup with Colorado College on Sunday at 11 a.m.
First Touches
- The Spartans are unbeaten in their previous four matches, having won 2-1 over Eastern Washington and drawing to Pacific 1-1, Denver, 1-1 and UC Santa Barbara, 2-2
- Taylor Phillips is in terrific form as she assisted on the opening goal and scored the game-winning goal against Eastern Washington
- Bella Flocchini is also in strong form as she scored the opening goal against Eastern Washington and now leads the Spartans in points this season with two goals and one assist
- The Air Force Falcons have split their previous four matches, winning over Bucknell and South Dakota State but losing to Northern Arizona and Nebraska at Omaha
- The Colorado College Tigers are on a three-game winless streak after drawing to Texas A&M-Commerce and losing to Southern Missouri State and Creighton
- The Spartans have dominated the matchup against Air Force historically as they hold an 8-1-1 all-time record over the Falcons
- The previous matchup between the Spartans and the Falcons was a 2-1 Spartans win in 2019
- The Spartans have had similar success facing off against Colorado College as they hold a 5-1-0 all-time record over the Tigers
- However, the last time the Spartans played the Tigers was in 2019 and the TIgers won 2-1
