SAN JOSE, Calif. - San José State women's soccer continues Mountain West conference play with a couple of games this week at the Spartan Soccer Complex. The Spartans play Nevada on Thursday, Sept. 29 and UNLV on Sunday, Oct. 2.

First Touches

  • The Spartans are unbeaten in their previous six matches.
  • They are undefeated in conference play with a 0-0 draw to Air Force and a 1-0 win over Colorado College.
  • The Spartans have not conceded since Thursday, September 15th against Eastern Washington.
  • Center back Jada Wilson was named Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week for her performances in the games against Air Force and Colorado College.
  • Goalkeeper Bente Pernot was named Mountain West Freshman of the Week after starting in goal for the two shutouts.
  • Tiana Cello's goal against Colorado College was the No. 8 play on Sportscenter's Top 10 Plays of the Day for Sunday.
  • The Nevada Wolf Pack are winless in their previous five matches, having not won since Sept. 4 against Sacramento State.
  • The UNLV Rebels are winless in their last three games as their most against win was against Idaho State on Sept.11.
  • The Spartans have dominated the matchup against Nevada historically as they hold an 16-6-2 all-time record over the Wolf Pack.
  • However, the last time the two sides faced off was the second-last game of 2021 and the Wolf Pack registered a 2-1 victory.
  • The Spartans hold a 3-7-1 all-time record over the Rebels.
  • The most recent matchup between the Spartans and the Rebels was a 1-0 Rebels win in 2021. 

Next Game: Following this week, the Spartans take to the the road for a showdown against San Diego State. Kickoff is scheduled for 7p.m. at Snapdragon Stadium.
