SACRAMENTO, Calif.—Amethyst Harper hit .520 and the Spartans hit a season-best .365 as a team as the San José State volleyball team swept Sacramento State 3-0 (29-27, 25-19, 25-22) inside The Nest.

- Harper led the team with 14 kills on 25 attempts and only one hitting error. She also had five digs and a service ace in the three sets.
- Four Spartans hit .429 or better for the match.
- Madeline Boerstra made her third appearance of the season, hitting .800 with eight kills on 10 attempts and no errors.
- Yazmin Pitpit hit .889 with eight kills on nine attempts and no errors.
- Blaire Fleming hit .429, also with eight kills on 14 attempts and two errors.
- Haylee Nelson added 11 kills, six digs and one ace.
- Defensively, Sarah Smevog recorded a team-best 15 digs and led the team with three service aces.
- Mia Schafer and Carly Aigner-Swesey shared setting duties during the match with Schafer recording 25 assists, while Aigner Swesey had 24.
- The Spartans recorded their first 3-0 sweep of the season. The first four matches of the year each went four sets.

San José State returns home next week for matches against Loyola Marymount on Thursday, September 8, at 7 p.m., and #23 UCLA on Saturday, September 10, at 5 p.m. LMU and UCLA will play on Friday, September 9, at 5 p.m. All matches take place in historic Spartan Gym, located inside Yosh Uchida Hall on the corner of 4th and San Carlos Streets.
