FARMINGTON, N.M. -Kevin Velo, a 2019 San Jose Staté graduate, won his second-ever professional tournament on Sunday with a 25-under 259 at the San Juan Open in Farmington, N.M. Velo had an incredible final round as he shot a 62, the low score of the day to leapfrog several players en route to his second professional win.
- Velo competed for the men's golf team at San José State from 2015-19
- This is his second professional tournament win
- Has earned Korn Ferry Tour membership for 2022-23 season
- Played a Korn Ferry Tour event for the first time earlier this year and finished tied for 47 at the Utah Championships
- Earned All-Mountain West accolades during his senior season in 2018-19
- Tallied a team-best scoring average of 71.40 as a senior
- First and only four-time Venturi Award Winner, team's most valuable player
- Finished his first professional season No. 4 inb the PGA Tour Latinoamérica's Totalplay Cup standings
- Captured the Outlaw Tour's Match Play Championship (2022)
