SAN JOSE, Calif. - San José State women's basketball is slated to open the 2022-23 season against CSU Monterey Bay on November 3 with Mountain West play starting December 29 against Nevada, Head Coach April Phillips announced on Wednesday.
The non-conference schedule includes six home games including the home opener. The other four non-conference home games are Cal State Fullerton (Nov. 13), Montana State (Nov. 22), Saint Mary's (Dec. 1), UC San Diego (Dec. 18) and Hawai'i (Dec. 21).
Conference play begins on the road against Nevada (Dec. 29) and Boise State (Dec. 31).
The Spartans will have both home and away contests against all Mountain West opponents except Colorado State (home, Feb. 9) and New Mexico (away, Feb. 18) while hosting initial road opponents Nevada and Boise State on January 26 and February 23, respectively.
SJSU's remaining conference schedule includes Air Force (home, Jan. 5; road, Jan. 16), UNLV (home, Jan. 11; road, Feb. 16), Wyoming (home, Jan. 14; road, Feb. 2), Utah State (home, Jan. 21; road, Feb. 28), Nevada (home, Jan. 26; road, Dec. 29), San Diego State (home, Feb. 11; road, Jan. 28), Boise State (home, Feb. 23; road, Dec. 31) and Fresno State (home, Feb. 25; road, Jan. 7).
Today's release of the Mountain West schedule represents the first phase in the 2022-23 women's basketball schedule. Mountain West national television partners CBS Sports and FOX Sports will now initiate a selection procedure which will include the shifting of particular games to any night of the week. That will be followed by the identification of network outlets and tip-off times.
