SONOMA, Calif. - Caleb Shetler shot a 140 (-4), while Kristopher Stiles and Avinash Iyer each carded a 141 (-3) to lead San José State in the first day of the Alister MacKenzie Invitational from the Sonoma Golf Club on Monday.
- The first and second rounds were played on the first day of the tournament
- SJSU finished the day tied for third in the team event with a 568 (-8)
- Shetler is tied for sixth overall after shooting a career-best 65 in the second round
- Stiles and Iyer finished tied for eighth
- Zubair Firdaus is tied for 13th after shooting a 143 (-1)
- Kotaro Murata finished tied for 33rd with a 147 (+3) and Alaric Mercie De Soultrait is tied for 41st with a 149 (+5)
- The Spartans had seven rounds at par or better
- 18 holes will be played Tuesday to finish the tournament
