Passon, Jagielski Lead SJSU at CSUB Sprint Classic

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Felicity Passon won the 50 yard butterfly with a 24.98 and won the 50 yard backstroke with a 25.66, while Jenna Jagielski scored a 313.30 on the 1m dive to win the event and lead San José State at the CSUB Sprint Classic on Friday.

SWIM

  • Passon also was part of the 200 yard medley relay with Emma Myburgh, Mya Azzopardi and Reagan Mathieson that finished third with a time of 1:45.65.
  • Myburgh finished third in the 50 yard breaststroke with a time of 29.99 and Azzopardi finished 11th with a time of 30.63.
  • Mathieson, Schwarze, Legarth and Amelia Snyder finished second in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:36.22.
  • Mathieson swam a 24.13 in the 50 yard freestyle which was good for third and Katie Schwarze finished seventh with a 24.40.
  • Passon, Mathieson, Zsófia Muzsnay and Azzopardi finished second in the 800 yard freestyle with a time of 7:30.08.
  • Ela Freiman swam a 2:07.34 in the 200 yard IM which was good for fourth and Mathieson swam a 2:07.59 to finish in sixth.
  • Snyder finished fourth in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:04.47 and Muzsnay finished eighth with a time of 5:06.82.
  • Muzsnay finished 13th in the 50 yard butterfly with a 26.35 and Snyder finished 14th with a 26.49.
  • Megan Legarth finished 11th in the 50 yard backstroke with a time of 27.63 and Ellie Shorten finished 13th with a 27.67.

DIVING

  • Emily San Jose finished third in the 1m dive with a 280.45 and Makenna Sharpe finished fourth with a 256.20.
  • Both Jagielski and San Jose have qualified for postseason.
  • SJSU finished third overall in the team event with a 269.50.

The Spartans now move on to the Roadrunner Invitational also from Bakersfield, Calif. on Saturday starting at 10:00 a.m.
