STANFORD, Calif. - Rozalina Youseva of San José State won two matches on Friday to advance to the round of 32 at the ITA Northwest Regionals.
- Youseva defeated Rose Watanabe (Portland) in the first round, 6-2, 6-2, and Jennifer Kerr (Washington) in the round of 64, 6-3, 6-4.
- Three Spartans doubles pairings won their first round matches including Youseva/Irena Muradyan, Lara Marco Mas/Alba Pedrero Galindo, and Carolina Millan/Raquel Villan Pereira.
- Youseva/Muradyan defeated Jenna Gordon/Carter Dasee (Santa Clara), 8-4.
- Marco Mas/Pedrero Galindo defeated Varya Zlotnik/Velizara Fileva (Santa Clara), 8-7 (7-4).
- Millan/Villan Pereira defeated Rita Colyer/Maria Martinez Vaquero (San Francisco), 8-7 (7-2).
UP NEXT: All of the winners advance to day two of the main draw which will take place tomorrow at Stanford University.
