SAN JOSE, Calif. - Beau Leroux scored two goals and Mario Barocio added another to lead San José State (4-3-2, 2-0-1 WAC) to a 3-0 win over Texas Rio Grande Valley (2-5-2, 0-2-0 WAC) on Sunday afternoon at the Spartan Soccer Complex.
- Leroux registered his second and third goals over the course of two matches and now leads the Spartans in goals this season with four.
- For Barocio, it was his first career goal as a Spartan.
- Herminio Padilla led the Spartans with two assists.
- Leroux scored the Spartans first goal of the match, off assists by Herminio Padilla and Finlay Wood.
- Barocio added the second goal of the match with assists credited to Angel Iniguez and Padilla.
- Leroux got the final goal of the match, unassisted.
- David Sweeney made one save in the second half and picked up his third shutout of the season
- Sweeney is tied for first in the WAC with the most shutouts this year.
- The Spartans outshot Texas Rio Grande Valley 27-5 and had nine shots on goal compared to their opponent's one.
