STOCKTON Calif. - Caleb Shetler and Zubair Firdaus each shot a 68 (-3) and are in a tie for eighth to lead San José State in the first round of the Visit Stockton Invitational from the Stockton Country Club on Thursday.
- Shetler has led the Spartans in each fall event this season and this was his sixth round under par this season.
- Firdaus has four rounds under par this fall.
- The Spartans finished the day tied for fourth out of 16 teams after shooting a 277 (-7).
- Kotaro Murata also shot under par for the Spartans carding a 70 (-1) which is good to tie for 27th.
- Avinash Iyer ended the day tied for 41st with a 71 (E).
- The Spartans are back at it at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow for round two from the Stockton Country Club.
