COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San José State's Viliami Fehoko was named Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday. Fehoko, a junior defensive end from East Palo Alto, Calif, had career-high's with 12 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss, plus tied a career-high with two sacks and had a forced fumble in the Spartans 35-28 win over Nevada Saturday night.

- Fehoko leads the Mountain West with 12 tackles for loss in only seven games.
- Fehoko's 4.5 tackles for loss was one behind the Mountain West Conference record.
- The eight SJSU sacks against Nevada were the most by a San José State team in a single game this century and most since 1981.
- Fehoko is ranked fifth in the Mountain West with five sacks.
- Fehoko was named Breakout Defensive Player of the Week by East-West Shrine Bowl (10/17/22).
- This is the fourth MW award for the Spartans this season and the first ever weekly MW award for Fehoko.
